Michel de MontaigneMichel de Montaigne (1533-1592) asked, "What do I know?" as the start of his writing project, known as The Essays. It's a great question. I find myself reading and thinking about economics, particularly behavioral economics (how we actually behave in the material world as opposed to the impoverished rational actor model that dominates mainstream economics), networks (we don't live or work alone and it matters), neuroscience (we are all on drugs all the time - that's how our brains work), and disruption theory (things change and it's almost impossible for companies, governments, and other institutions and entreprises to change along with them.
So this blog is about all of those things, besides my perennial obsessions: history, music (Jazz and Classical mostly), movies, and politics.
I read a lot, listen to a lot of music, watch a lot of movies (and TV sometimes), and like to comment on and share the things that interest me. I hope you will find them interesting, too. If you'd like to comment, please do.
Building the Collaborative Economy in Western Massachusetts. InCommN partners work on a wide range of projects dedicated to fostering enterprises in Western Massachusetts; while much of our activity is classic business consulting, we also work with non-profits and municipalities. We spend a lot of our time meeting people all around Western Mass and beyond. We consult with and coach individuals, too. We delight in bringing people together, whether for exchange of ideas or for building business partnerships.
